Thank you to the LDO Team
- Jason
- His passion for the Positron Project and his willingness to support the Open Source community have helped us thrive.
- Dave
- Dave has straight up told us when designs were dumb, and has significantly helped us re-design a vast majority of The Positron to help us make it what it is today.
- Cameron
- Cameron helped guide us while our team was small, providing sound advice on how to approach various aspects of this project.
- Rebecca
- Rebecca and her team are behind the LDO Guide that we all follow; it is because of their hard work that the Positron assembly itself is extremely approachable for all skill levels of kit builders.
- The Rest of the LDO Team
- There are many faces behind LDO that we don't get to interact with, but we know that LDO as a whole are dedicated to the larger 3D Printing Community. Their undying passion for Open Source projects is what allowed Positron to make it through some tough times when our personal lives took a toll on the team. Without LDO, Positron itself might not have come to fruition. They helped sponsor many of our trips this year to show off The Positron and meet many of our community members. None of this would have been possible without them, and we are so thankful to work with such an amazing partner who genuinely cares about The Positron Community and the larger Maker Community.
Thank you to our Retailers
A big shout-out to all our retailers who spotted this quirky machine and took a leap of faith with it. Collaborating with them to offer top-notch support to every member of our community has been incredibly rewarding, and now we're proud to call many of them our friends.
Thank you to our Reviewers
We've dispatched numerous units to content creators and reviewers, trusting them to give us their honest feedback our machine. These insights have prompted countless tweaks to parts, enhanced user experiences, and refined software, making the printer better overall. We stand by our policy of not asking for anything in return when we send out a printer, ensuring the feedback is as genuine and unbiased as possible, helping us to elevate our game.
Thank you to our Beta Testers
Positron went through many iterations until we settled on the current design, starting with the original v3 Alpha. We've implemented many changes based on their feedback, and without them, we wouldn't have the foundation we needed to build something great.
Thank you to the Voron Team
Steve, Nero, and other members of the Voron team were very willing to provide us with critical feedback, helping us re-design some aspects of the machine to improve its user experience. You'll see some of their designs in our next parts update. The Voron team also set an example for what an Open Source 3D Printer Project should be, and we heavily copied their homework in this regard, but we made sure to re-write the answers in our own words. Jokes aside, they are amazing and passionate, and this wouldn't have been possible without their guidance and inspiration.
Thank you to the Original Duo
- Kralyn & Danning
- The original designers and team members who started this journey.
- While they've had to step away due to professional obligations, none of this could have happened without them.
- They put their trust in Nomad, who took the torch and ran with it to keep this crazy dream alive; they still keep in touch and are incredibly proud of how far the project has come.
And last but not least; Thank YOU
Seriously, this entire journey was only possible because of the dedicated support of our community. The crazy people who saw an upside-down, foldable 3D printer that could fit inside a filament box and thought, "I want that!" Every choice we made during this process was made with you in mind. We didn't want to make any false promises or set expectations too high, and while that resulted in some long periods of silence from the team and some false starts, we were steadfast in ensuring that the final product would be one anyone would be proud to have built and to own.
We chose LDO as our partner in this because they shared that vision; they wanted The Positron to be one of the coolest printers you could get your hands on. The Rugged Case, The Carbon Fiber Panels, and the choice for high-quality aluminum metal were all their ideas. Even the CM4 in the back of the display to save internal space! All these choices, and more, were made because we wanted to give our community the best possible rendition of our design. And through it all, we knew that their dedication to the community would ensure only the highest quality customer support available. If something breaks, we can rest assured knowing that LDO will do right by you, and get you up and running as quickly and reasonably as possible. Whenever there's a mistake, they proudly own up to it and do right by everyone.
So, with us being nominated by you, the community, we want to thank you. We wouldn't have made it to the top 10 without you, and we can stand proud knowing that we've been nominated by you to be one of the BEST Desktop 3D Printers of the year. Rock on.
Keep on printing, just not on planes. - Nomad.
